Gaelic Guiness

I took this picture of a shirt I bought in Shannon Ireland. This is a t-shirt with the Gaelic Guiness label on the front. This works as free advertising for an already world known beer by using it as a part of fashion. The english export label always states that this beer is traditionally brewed, and what would say that better than using an all but dead language that was spoken in the same country as well as Scotland. The Irish would say Gaelic is a traditional language. The type appears to be almost old english except for the red script. This shirt was bought with the label appearing to have already been worn and cracked by time which still makes one think of the age of this beer.

For Valentines albeit a day late

This is cover art that came with the album.
Ok, I saw this movie and thought it was really good first off. Second the Cover was a little bit sappy but over all I thought it really did draw on experiences we've all had. The two characters are sharing head phones... on second glance no they arent but hmm maybe its implied? The text is very collaged, with the title looking like its been cut out and the notes are written in. It almost makes you want to go out and have one of those epic nights of your own. One of the funniest parts of the movie is when Michael Cera is making cover art for his 12th volume of a mixtape titled Road To Closure... thats all I can say without ruining the movie.

Telemarketing scumbags (happy scumbags)

Ok, 99.9% of all Graphic design contains text right? Help me out in deciding if this is graphic design. I found this online, on a webpage for telemarketers. Paul had mentioned all the junk mail that we get in our mailboxes and it made me think of other things that I think abuse freedom of speach. Here you can see 3 happy people at work, content with calling you up while you are eating to let you know that the company they are working for is better at lying than the company that you already use for whatever service. In fact they look so happy and professional it makes you wonder what kind of drugs they are pushing there. It almost makes me want to change my major. This is obviously trying to recruit more droids who think that they will work in a nice atmosphere with a chance to move up. Need a job REALLLLY bad? This place is obviously not like all the other telemarketing jobs... check it out (please dont).

Fast Food

Here I have posted two advertising signs for 2 different resturaunts. I found this image online when I was searching for Arby's potatoe bites and could not find a good image. Everyone has seen these signs I am sure. The function of both signs is to grab your attention away from the other resturaunts that are usually surounding them. They both use the color red generously since this color is supossed to make you hungry. While the type used in Arby's is more whimsicle, Wendys goes with a more traditional Font. I think Arby's tried more to imprint their logo in your mind while Wendys wants you to see that they are more "Old fashioned". Arby's has one very simple logo (the hat). Wendys tries a few different identities by presenting both Dave Thomas and the classic red-headed Wendy with pigtails.
